Post Operative Pain Management?

I just had and ingrown toenail procedure done, my doctor said it wouldn't hurt, but afterwards I have a chronic stinging and burning pain and occasionally whenever I walk it's throbbing. Been taking Max. dose of Tylenol does nothing. Am I within my rights to ask for something stronger (ie Rx Tylenol #3)
