Fingernails slightly grown under skin....is this ingrown?

Some of my fingernails, like my big thumbs and a couple others...has the nail on the side sorta grown SLIGHTLY under the skin and it's irritate sometimes. It doesn't hurt and sorta curves, but there's also skin that sorta grew over most of the nail sides. So, is this something to worry about? Also, is the sides of your nail fold on your thumbs suppossed to stick out like a groove?
